Muhammad Abubakar is a senior alimiyyah student at the Qalam Institute and a PHD candidate in clinical psychology. Despite his challenges of vision loss, he began his journey of seeking Islamic knowledge at the age of 23. He has received a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and a master's degree in neuroscience, his travels have taken him to Karachi, Pakistan where he has formerly studied and benefited from world renowned scholars. He has served as a spiritual leader in his hometown community as well as for the university of Connecticut's Muslim student association.
